 The Machinist

The "Machinist" is a movie that falls under the genre of psychological thriller, it is centered around the character Trevor, who suffer from numerous psychological problems including insomnia, paranoia, hallucinations, and some few more. Trevor doesn't find comfort in anything but a Stevie, whom is a prostitute and his coworkers don't associate with him due to his emaciated physical appearance. When a workplace incident occurs, Trevor's hallucinations began taking place. He believes that some devious people are using a false employee named Ivan as their front. Soon his hallucinations eventually led him towards the killing of Ivan, and a small kid identical to Nicholas. At the end, Trevor confesses his previous crimes, entering his cell, nevertheless, now being able to sleep. This movie portrays the idea that dramatic events sometimes can alter our lives completely, and even worst if there are other problems as well. This helps my movie acquire more valuable ideas, such as the previously mentioned one.

American Psycho

"American Psycho" has an transgressive fictional and novelistic genre, and presents a variety of new ideas. The movie is centered around the character of Patrick Bateman, whom is Manhattan businessman, while at the same time being a serial killer with unusual tastes, including complex sequences of rape, torture, mutilation, necrophilia, and cannibalism. Bateman became increasingly unstable, using his apartment as a deadly place where he murders his victims. He soon starts talking about stories regarding serial killers, especially to his coworkers, who obviously never take him seriously. Little time after, deep hallucinations began taking place , eventually Patrick finishes shooting a plethora of people who are just simply walking on the streets. Patrick escapes and hides in his office where he calls Carnes (his attorney), and confesses his crimes to the answering machine. However, Carnes mistakes his message as a hilarious joke, and later saved Patrick from disaster, and possibly permanent jail. This movie emphasizes the view that sometimes people misjudge others, and that sometimes even a serial killer can be an apparently ordinary person. In other words, this helps the development of my movie, with the previously mentioned idea that even the most normal people can be quite dangerous.

Fake Blood

In our film we are going to need to make fake blood to dramatize the scenes. This is obviously something we have never done before so here we have picked one option out of fourteen of how to to make fake blood. The option that we have picked stains in clothes but it is easily removed from skin with warm water.

The materials needed are:
-Water
-Corn syrup
-Red, blue and green food coloring
-Flour and chocolate syrup

The first step is to mix one spoon of water with three of corn syrup followed by drops of the red food coloring. You can put as much as red food coloring as you think is the necessary for the mix to look as real blood. To make it seem even more realistic you can add blue and green food coloring as well.
After that you should add the flour and chocolate syrup to make the"blood" look more thick. When you're done mixing if the "blood" is to pink you can add more of the blue food coloring but be careful because it can get purple and then you are going to have to start all over again.
After completing these steps you should leave the mix sit for ten minutes.

We chose this type of "Fake Blood" because our film involves a little kid (main Character) and it is plausible that he is going to have blood on his hands, face etc. This mix will be save for the kid since it does not contain anything that is toxic.

Child of Rage

"Child of Rage" falls under the genre of drama, mystery, and biography. The movie is mainly centered around the character of Catherine, and the disastrous effects that early children abuse (sexual, physically, mentally, etc...) ,  could cause. Rob Tyler and her wife Jill, decide to adopt 2 kids, being Catherine and Erick. Little time after, Catherine's unacceptable behavior begins to show, she commits violent acts for no apparent reason, and displays inappropriate sexual behavior. Examples are numerous, they include attacking Eric while he sleeps, the killing of baby birds, stabbing the family's dog, deviant sexual behavior towards her grandfather, hurting Erick with broken glass, etc... At the end, the parents find out information regarding the kids' past, Erick was found in a detrimental shape, and Catherine, had been sexually abused by her dad. Rob had to lock the door to avoid possible assassination attempts by Catherine, finally, the parents can't handle it anymore, and decide to incorporate her in an attachment therapy, which eventually healed her from the enormous pain experienced as a child.

This particular movie has made me considerate the idea that human monsters rise from a harmful past or neglected environment. In addition it has helped me considerate new thoughts for my film.

Dexter

Dexter falls under the Genre: Crime drama, Psychological thriller, and Mystery. Dexter, who is the main character, was orphaned when he was three years old because his mom was murdered. After his mom's death, he was adopted by a Miami policeman. The policeman noticed that Dexter had a necessity for killing people so he taught Dexter how to kill only the bad people. Examples of "bad people" would be rapists, child molesters, assassins, serial killers, among others. However, the childhood of a person has a huge influence on how the life of that person is going to turn. Dexter experienced an unpleasant event when he was very young so probably that also summed up for him turning out to be a serial killer. My partner and I have found some cool ideas from this show that we can use for our film. One example of this is the idea that a serial killer doesn't have feelings about committing crimes towards anyone but knows how to "act" or pretend to have feelings.

Got the Perfect Idea

After brainstorming with my partner about many ideas for our film that fell under the genre drama and suspense, we have decided that our film will be based on a little boy who has no remorse for anything or anyone, not even towards his supposed loved ones. I am not going to go into more details because we are not sure yet how the story is going to turn in.  We do know that the main character will be a little boy of the age around 8-12. After looking for the options of who this person could be, we decided that the perfect actor for this will be Ezio (11 years old). Ezio is perfect for this because he is very accessible for us which is convenient in order for this film to happen.

Little kids are fast learners so it will facilitate our hard-work when filming. Since this film requires him to be very serious we have to teach him a lot of techniques for our film to be realistic as possible. Some of the techniques will include being emotionless.

The Right Tools

Me and my partner have decided to use a professional camera instead of an iPhone because of two main reasons: high definition and more stability when filming.
The model of the camera is a N50. Since we do not know how to use well this camera we have decided to research about it.

Picking the right partner

Me and Daniela have been working together since the beginning of this school year.By working together in some projects we discovered that we both had the same opinion about dramatic and suspenseful movies. We both think that is the best genre that a movie can have. Since we already know how each-other works we can focus better in the topics that each of us masters better.
Daniela likes to be creative in every single possible way, specially when editing a film. When editing a film she uses a bunch of different options to make the film look unique and creative. Having Daniela as partner in some projects helped me to better understand her in different areas related to the media. For this project it was very important picking the right partner since we have to work as a group for it to be successful. I believe that if the two of us puts hard work everything will go as planned.

Vulnerable Women

Being a teenager is not always easy specially when you are a girl. Girls have to always be careful when going to places that could end in a tragic story. My name is Fabiana and I am a teenager still discovering how cruel the world could be. As a hobby I like to watch movies that take away my naive thinking about people in this world. This type of movies are in the LMN channel; the name of this channel stands for Lifetime Movie Network which is owned by A+E Networks. LMN movies and shows have a target audience of women. If these are your type of movies you may also want to check out Lifetime and Lifetime Real Women.

An example of this type of movies is Stolen from the Womb which falls into the genre of crime, mystery and drama. This is a movie based on true events; a woman who is unable to have a baby of her own tries to get a baby by other means.
